Dial Tone

Dial Tone by LiAns JadAn is the fourth chapter in Dictation, a cinematic photographic story about power, desire, secrecy, and revenge.

A hand turns the dial of a vintage telephone in extreme close-up, reducing the office to gesture, machinery, and anticipation. The image transforms an ordinary act of communication into something more charged—private, deliberate, and potentially revealing.

Within Dictation, the telephone becomes a conduit between what happens inside the office and what exists beyond it. Conversations, secrets, and unanswered questions begin to complicate the relationship, suggesting that what is said—and who is listening—may ultimately expose far more than either person intends.
